Chris Yoo

Chris is a Partner and Founder of Genesis and has 15+ years of consulting and private equity experience. Prior to Genesis, he was a Partner and member of the Investment Committee at Crescent Capital Partners and a Principal at Bain Capital. Chris holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney.

Ashton Tay

Ashton is an Investment Director at Genesis and joined the team in 2018. Prior to Genesis, Ashton was at Liverpool Partners, a leading specialist investment and advisory group. During his time at Liverpool Partners, Ashton was part of both the advisory and investment teams, executing principal investments and advising on buy-side transactions for various ASX-listed companies.
Finance Manager

Ashleigh Lascelles

Ashleigh is an Investment Manager at Genesis. Prior to Genesis, she worked for 4 years at Hg Capital in London - a specialist investor focused on software and service businesses. During this time, Ashleigh was part of the Portfolio & Client Relations team, gaining experience in funds management, investor relations, fundraising, financial reporting business exits. Before this she spent 5 years in A&A at Deloitte, focusing on the financial services sector. Ashleigh holds a Bachelor of Commerce from ANU, majoring in Accounting and Finance, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (Member of AANZ).

Jasalina Patel

Jasalina joined Genesis Capital in February 2024. Prior to joining, she held roles at Strategy& and PwC, specialising in commercial and financial due diligence, as well as strategic advisory services. Her experience extends across diverse sectors, including healthcare, industrials, technology, and retail. Jasalina is a graduate of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), holding a Bachelor of Commerce/Law.

Nathan Green

Nathan is an Operating Partner at Genesis and provides 20+ years building scalable, highly efficient & sustainable businesses. Prior to returning to Australia in late 2023, Nathan spent ten years in Boston, USA, delivering various transformation programs within one of the largest HealthCare Systems in the country. Nathan holds a Masters of Business Administration and additional Graduate studies in Professional Accounting.

Dr. Michael Caristo

Michael is an experienced healthcare investor. Prior to founding Genesis, he was a senior investment professional at Crescent Capital Partners. Michael began his career at Bain & Co., and is a qualified medical doctor. He is also a published contributor to the field of stem-cell research.

Peter Morrison

Peter has 12+ years of experience in healthcare-focused private equity, investment banking and M&A roles. He has a strong passion for healthcare and partnering with management teams to help build long lasting value. Peter holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney.

Joseph Kozera

Joseph joined Genesis Capital in November 2022. Prior to joining, he held roles in investment banking at 333 Capital and restructuring at KordaMentha. Joseph holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics, Finance) and Bachelor of Science (Financial Mathematics, Psychology) from the University of Sydney and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Fergal Dillon

Fergal is a Data Analyst at Genesis, joining the team in June 2024. He was previously a data analyst at KPMG in Ireland before moving to Sydney at the start of 2024. He graduated with a Masters in Social Science Research from Queen's University Belfast in 2021.

Michael Garcia

Michael is the Finance Director at Genesis and has 18+ years of financial services and private equity experience. Prior to Genesis, Michael was CFO at Crescent Capital Partners, and a Director at EY in their Financial Services Assurance division. Michael is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong.

James Hamlin

James has been with Genesis since 2019 and leads our Origination function. He has over 15 years of investment management experience with roles at both Macquarie Bank and Liverpool Partners. James holds a Bachelor of Business (USC), and a Master of Finance (Distinction) (UNSW).

Laura Parmegiani

Laura joined the Genesis team in January 2021. Prior to this she worked as a strategy consultant at Monitor Deloitte, primarily for healthcare and public sector clients. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney, majoring in finance, commercial law and pharmacology.

Calvin is an Analyst at Genesis, and has been a part of the team since October 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Advanced Studies (Data Science) from the University of Sydney.

Corinne Salem

Corinne joined the Genesis team in 2018. She has previously worked in professional services at Deloitte and most recently ran and operated her own successful business. Corinne brings a wealth of business management experience to our team.

Susie Sugden

Susie is an Operating Partner at Genesis. Prior to joining Genesis, she held leadership roles as CEO, Founder and in the ASX C-Suite. Susie began her career at BCG and has extensive advisory experience. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne.

Tara Hariharan

Tara is an Investment Manager at Genesis. Prior to this she was a management consultant at Bain & Company, and has worked across the Healthcare, Financial Services, and NFP/Charity sectors. Tara holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney. She received Honours (First Class) in Health Economics for her work on the early-childhood determinants of adulthood outcomes and has published papers in this field.

David Gordon

David is a corporate lawyer by training, specialising in mergers and acquisitions. He has spent more than 30 years working in corporate advisory roles advising Australian and international organisations on all forms of M&A, capital raising, restructuring and growth. David has founded or co-founded a number of businesses, including Nudie Juices, ecommerce logistics software business ShippingEasy Inc., and the independent advisory & investment firm Lexicon Partners, where he has been the Founding Principal since 2001.
David is the Chairman of Accent Group Ltd (ASX:AX1), nib Holdings Ltd (ASX:NHF), and General Home Care Holdings Pty Ltd. He is a Non-Executive Director of General Medical Holdings Pty Ltd and on the Global Board of the non-profit High Resolves Limited. Previously, David was the Chairman of Network TEN Holdings Limited and Ordermentum Pty Ltd.

Hon. Greg Hunt

Greg Hunt holds honorary professorships at the University of Melbourne's Medicine, Dentistry, Health Services, and Business faculties. He is the Chair of the Advisory Council for the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health at Monash University, offering advice in innovation, leadership, health, and environment sectors.

A former Australian Cabinet Minister, Greg served across three major portfolios for almost nine years, including Health, Industry, Innovation & Science, and the Environment. Notably, as Health Minister, he managed Australia’s COVID-19 response and established telehealth in Medicare. He played pivotal roles in launching the Australian Space Agency, the Emissions Reduction Fund, the $1 billion Reef Trust, and was recognized as the Best Minister in the World in 2016 for his environmental efforts.

With over 20 years as the Federal Member for Flinders, Greg's extensive background encompasses roles in the Howard Government, senior advisory positions, and tenure at McKinsey & Co, specializing in telecommunications and government reform.

A Fulbright Scholar, Greg earned his Masters from Yale University and a First Class Honours in Law from the University of Melbourne. He has been recognized for his debating prowess, and is known for his charitable marathon and walking feats. Greg resides on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula with his family.

Ian Maynard

Ian Maynard is the non-executive chair of General Allied Health Holdings (Therapy Pro), DPN Casa Capace, Australian Christian Churches (ACC) Review Group, a director of Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Alliance and Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Business School Advisory Board.

Ian is Principal of Maynards Consulting Group, advising as a business and executive coach, specialising in leadership and organisational development.

Previously, as Deputy CEO for the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), Ian was responsible for rolling out the NDIS from trial sites to a full national scheme.

Ian’s more than 20 years of executive experience spans the public and private sectors in Australia and New Zealand, most recently as Deputy CEO, National Disability Insurance Agency, Director General Queensland Health, CEO Queensland Public Service Commission, CEO Queensland Urban Utilities.

Ian holds a B.Sc. with first class honours in Chemistry (UQ) and is a graduate of the INSEAD Advancement Management and AICD Company Director programs.
